Robert W. Boyd AMVETS Post 2 is deeply honored to serve and support our brave veterans. We recognize the profound sacrifices made by those who have defended our freedoms, and we remain dedicated to providing a community of camaraderie, resources, and unwavering gratitude for all who have served.

Our Legacy & Namesake

Chartered in 1967, our post is dedicated to the memory of Robert W. Boyd, a United States Army veteran from Yarmouth who gave the ultimate sacrifice while serving his country in the Vietnam War. We honor his legacy every day by continuing to serve those who served.

Since our founding, the American Veterans Hall has evolved from a small gathering of local service members into a cornerstone of community support. Our journey began with a simple mission: to provide a sanctuary for fellowship and a platform for advocacy. Over the decades, we have expanded our reach, facilitating essential programs and maintaining a space where the sacrifices of Maine veterans are honored every day. Today, we continue to bridge the gap between service and civilian life, ensuring that no veteran walks alone in our community.

Our Community Presence

Impact Through Action

At AMVETS Post 2, our mission extends far into the communities we call home. Through the operations of our canteen, hall rentals, and local events, we raise and donate tens of thousands of dollars annually to meaningful local and national causes. We are proud to support:

Local Education: Awarding thousands of dollars in annual academic scholarships to the families of local veterans.
Veterans' Nonprofits: Partnering with and donating to military-centric organizations like K9s on Front Lines and the Durham Warriors Project.
Healthcare & Wellness: Consistently donating to vital organizations such as local Hospice Houses and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

While our physical home is located at 148 North Road in Yarmouth, Post 2 proudly serves as a welcoming central hub for veterans across several surrounding communities. We are honored to bring together service members and families from:
